Our research project, „Communism for Young People. Passing on the Recent Past to Young Generations in Romania and the Republic of Moldova”, through comparison between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, two countries intimately related through their common past, language and traditions, goes beyond its scientific relevance pertaining to building connections between actors involved in shaping the memory cultures of Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Furthermore, it aims at fostering similar approaches in terms of public policies and institutions as regards the memory of the Communist/Soviet past in the context of a common European future.
